Wasn’t it Einstein that said: “Stay away from negative people. They have a problem for every solution”?
Well, not only I believe this to be true, but I also believe that negative people can hold you back and not let you progress.
When I first got started doing music licensing I got rid of anything that was toxic and negative in my life. From quitting smoking to stop being around friends that didn’t support my vision.
I know it can be hard to keep your distance from friends and family members that only want the best for you, but at the same time these are the same people that are telling you: “Don’t change your job”, or “don’t have big expectations”, or “be realistic, you can’t do that” etc.
It can be difficult to stay positive when you are surrounded by negativity, or in the face of rejection and failure, but it’s not impossible.
